Events List
The official STEREO/HI CME and CIR catalogues were developed under the auspices of the HELCATS (Heliospheric Cataloguing, Analysis and Techniques Service) project, an EU FP7 project led by the UK STEREO/HI PI team. The HELCATS website provides information on the project, and the cataloguing methodologies. The principal STEREO/HI catalogues are:
- HI CME catalogue – HICAT
- Observational catalogue of CMEs detected in HI-1 imagery, including times of first observation and position angle extent
- HI CME kinematic catalogue – HIGeoCAT
- Extension of HICAT to include kinematic CME properties derived using geometric models (includes back-projected onset times, projected arrival times, propagation directions and speeds)
- HI CIR catalogue – CIRCAT
- Catalogue of CIRs detected in the HI data from 2007 to 2015
See https://www.helcats-fp7.eu under the tab "Products" for the full set of HELCATS catalogues.
We also retain the early transient event list, which was updated up to 2012. Speeds and directions were calculated, from ecliptic J-maps, for all solar wind transients seen to propagate into the outer H1-2 fields of view. This list contains includes both CMEs and CIRs, and does not distinguish between them. See Solar-wind transient event list to August 2012
